What we collect, why, and the choices you have. We never sell your personal information.

For everyoneLast updated 30 September 2026

1. What we collect

Information you give us: your name, email, phone number, country, store details and what you sell or buy. To pay you: your legal name, date of birth, a verified phone number, your NIN and a selfie (Nigeria) or a photo of a government ID and a selfie (everywhere else), and your bank details, collected when you verify before your first payout. Our verification partners check them: Dojah for Nigeria, Veriff everywhere else. Phone codes are sent by Termii (Nigeria) and Twilio. Information collected automatically: IP address, device and browser details, pages viewed and actions taken, used to keep Breadwave secure and working.

2. Buyers

Buyers don’t create an account. We keep your email and purchases so you can open your library, and send you receipts and access emails only. You are not added to Breadwave’s mailing list.

3. How we use it

To run stores and checkout, deliver products, pay creators and affiliates, verify identity, prevent fraud, give support, send service emails, improve Breadwave, and — with your permission — send marketing you can opt out of any time. Bread AI uses a creator’s own sales and wallet data to give that creator suggestions.

4. Creators’ customer lists

When a creator emails their own buyers through Breadwave, the list belongs to the creator. We handle it on their behalf and don’t use it for our own marketing.

5. Who we share it with

Payment partners (such as Stripe, Bachs and Paystack), identity verification, hosting, email, analytics and support providers — only what they need to do their job. We may share information to follow the law, protect people or during a merger or sale of the business. We never sell your personal information.

6. Social and Google sign-in

If you sign in with Google or another account, we receive basic profile details from that provider, such as your name, email and photo.

7. How long we keep it

As long as your account is open, then as long as the law requires for tax, payment and fraud records. After that we delete or anonymise it.

8. Keeping it safe

We use technical and organisational safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct, download or delete your information, and you can object to marketing. Use Settings or email us. EEA, UK and Swiss residents can also complain to their data protection authority.

10. Changes and contact

We’ll post updates here with a new date and tell you about important changes.
